About Melissa

Welcome to my blog! As you may know, from reading my first post, I started this blog in order to document my transition from student to public relations professional. Since I just graduated in May 2010, from the University of Georgia, I am not so well-known in the Atlanta public relations community. As I start out in my career, this blog is a source for my future employers, peers and other professionals to find out more about me and my writing style.

First, to learn about my background at Kleber & Associates, Price & Partners, the UGA Press, PRSSA’s Creative Consultants and the Atlanta History Center, scroll to my “Resume” page.  These positions, along with my education from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, helped develop me as a public relations practitioner.

Through freelancing gigs and my part-time position as  Account Coordinator at Scholz Communications, a firm specializing in the lifestyle and entertainment sectors, I gained a broad range of experience. I learned that I love writing, researching, social media and media relations. See some of my work on my “Writing Samples” page.

You already know that I have a passion for public relations. As you read my blog, you will discover that I also love history. I am lucky enough to have had an internship at the Atlanta History Center. It was pretty much my dream job!

So, stay a while, and read my blog. I am so excited to continue my transformation from student to professional!
